2009/2010 Catch-Up Super Post.

For the six of you who read my blog, I apologize for the lack of blogging as of late. I’m sure you are all flustered and slightly depressed not knowing what I’ve been up to. So, here is what I’ve been doing since I last spoke with you early last December…

I went to the Breckenridge Dew Tour stop. Hard to believe, but yes, I was at a ski contest.

It was great. The Freeskier party went off. Big thanks to Whygee and DJ Ear Attent for playing to the guests. The Gold Pan in Breck has the oldest liquor license this side of the Mississippi. No joke.

Once that was finished and my stress level depreciated, the next four nights were turned into party mode. Best beezies Heather Hendricks, Jess Werner and Lesley Betts made the trip to Breck and we posted up in the Tannhauser, a mere “stones throw away” from the bars, as H-Mo likes to tell everyone. We had some shots, some after parties, and most importantly, dance parties. Oh, and a lot of PBR…

We also skied and snowboarded a little bit. Here and there…

Whew, five nights in Breck does a body good, er, terrible. I needed a solid reprieve and cruised home to Michigan to chill with the sis and the bro and shred some gnarly Michigan terrain. Don’t know why I ever left.

We visited my grandfather. He was stoked. Really good Christmas.

I ran into my friend Rick Chyme. He’s about to drop a new album, The Field, check him out at myspace.com/rickchyme. You won’t be disappointed.

From Michigan, I went ahead and flew to Tahoe to hang out with best-beezy Tawnya. She picked me up in Reno and we sized up Alpine Meadows for the day. We partnered up with Brenden and Natalie who showed us a great day that included a 30-minute hike. First hike of the season was a little rough, but it was completely worth it. We sussed out this awesome zone with heaps of snow and tons of fun little rocks and cliffs to pop off of. Peep it.

New Year’s eve saw us driving around Tahoe randomly party dropping and ending up on the bridge hitting gold balls in the snow. Completely normal. Champagne as well, of course. The next day, we rolled to Squaw and had a brilliant day. It was nuking up top. But raining at the bottom.

So soaking wet, Tawnya drops me at Jess’ house and we immediately get in the car and drive to Utah. Why not, right? I mean, we need to get back to Colorado, and why not make the drive in order to shred the next day in Utah. The forecast calls for snow, so… we’re in. On the way, Jess rolls 100,000 miles on the Pathfinder. Whoop! Not only that, but we were witness to the MOST AMAZING sunset we have ever seen. So brilliant.

Snowbasin the next day was epic. The snow that was promised failed to materialize, but we hooked up with Jenny from Salomon and had an exploratory day, to say the least. With no real game plan in mind, we headed out and thanks to a twit from @greteeliassen, we searched out the goods farthest skiers right from the furthest gondola. We found great snow and did a bit of bushwacking.

About one, we jumped back in the Pathfinder and drove back to Boulder. All in time for the second half of the Michigan State Alamo Bowl. ;)

Wheeeeewwww, so now you’re caught up. I promise it won’t be this long between posts next time and you won’t have to wade through this ridiculous sized superpost. But, regardless, thanks for tuning in.

xoxo.
